Here are are few common problems, and solutions for Jet Dynamics Intake Grates and Ride Plates

Intake Grates

Q: The Watercraft doesn't hook up on or through corners.

A: The shoe area is not deep enough in the water. Shim down .050" at a time.

Q: The pump cavitates 10 feet off starting line or beach

A: The intake grate is not deep enough in the water, or you have the wrong intake causing the displacement of too much water in the intake duct.

Q: The boat turns better one direction than the other

A: The torque of the motor can cause better right turns than left turns, or the intake grate is bent. If the intake grate is bent, straighten or replace.

A: Deeper intake grate, shim it down with very thin .050" stainless steel washers.


Ride Plates

Q: Boat Porpoises, nose bounces up and down.

A: Shim down ride plate with small washers in back.(.050)

Q: Bow is to low in the water

A: Too much ride plate lift, or nozzle is in the wrong location

Q: Ride Plate Slips out easy in corners.

A: Some ride plates are more slippery than others. Long grooves in the ride plate corners aerate the plate and cause slippage. (change the ride plate)

Q: High side watercraft

A: side of plate is too steep.

A: The sponses are too deep on side of the boat
